I graduated from the Surgical Technology Program at Bergen County Community College, Paramus, NJ, in 1992. Since then, I have worked in several hospitals, in several surgical areas related to the operating room, as well as for several surgeons within Morris, Somerset and Sussex Counties.
After completing the Surgical Technology Program, I accepted employment at Morristown Memorial Hospital where I worked the night shift for several years. While at Morristown, I also worked in the Operating Room scheduling office.
Utilizing my experience, I sought employment as a Surgical Coordinator scheduling the patients for their surgeries and any pre-operative testing for several orthopedic surgeons.
While working full-time with the orthopedic surgeons, I was also an orthopedic bracing specialist for 5 years. These required me to measure and apply a variety of orthopedic braces to patients.
Beginning 2004, I became the Director/Instructor of the Surgical Technology Program at Sussex County Community College. This is where I take pride in helping to educate people in the great profession of Surgical Technology.
I am also working part-time in the Labor and Delivery Unit of Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton New Jersey, as their Department Educator.
I look forward to continuing my service as President for the New Jersey State Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists.
