It is with great privilege that I submit my candidacy for NJAST State Assembly Board of Director.  As a Surgical Technology Instructor at Sanford Brown Institute, I am committed to my profession, as well as empowering my students with the knowledge, skills and passion to provide the highest level of patient care and well being. 

I have worked as a medical professional for the past 13 years; with the last 8 years as a Surgical Technologist, and a total of 3 years as a Surgical Technology instructor.  I am proud to be a Certified Surgical Technologist as well as an internationally Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician. 

My goal as a NJAST board of Director is first and foremost to unite all Surgical Technologists; whether hospital trained or non-CAAHEP graduates, by promoting and providing information leading to Certification through Accelerated Alternate Delivery Programs (AAD).  In addition I want to encourage our CAAHEP graduates, who have not attained Certification as yet, by providing review guides and study resource packages to help bring them to this goal. 

Developing and promoting legislation to promote CST as the required credential for the practice of surgical technology in the State of NJ is my ultimate goal.

Uniting all Surgical Technologists can only make us stronger.
